EMMA DENNISON, a Midwest housewife and grandmother has a frightening experience while jogging through the forest. It involves an encounter with a wolf. What Emma doesn't know is that the animal isn't an ordinary wolf. It is a manifestation of something far more sinister. LILITH was Adam's woman, but spurned his affections. She got a bad reputation. People called her the Queen of Demons, and entity that lived in a cave and strangled babies after birth. But Lilith disagrees, "Don't believe everything you read in those dusty old volumes from the Middle Ages. Those stories are lies--nonsense." NEVERTHELESS, Lilith will be the first to admit that if you get her ire up, watch out. She is capable of all manner of mischief. That is what Emma learned when they met in the woods one fateful day.

I am a big fan of stories about the Lilith mythology and after reading the description of “Lilith”, I was quite excited to read the book. Sadly, that excitement quickly turned to disappointment by the utter lack of Lilith in the book, the pointless character back-stories which fill up most of the book, and the amateurish dialogue. I have the feeling that when the author wrote the book the dialogue sounded great in his head, but he never once read the dialogue out loud or acted it out to see if it was realistic or not. It’s not!

I am giving the book two stars only because I did like the underlining idea about the mysterious paintings done by Lilith. This is where the author should have focused his attention, but unfortunately it seemed to be just a passing idea.

…and speaking of passing, I would pass this book by, and not recommend it

Lilith Jim Pahz 9780988642317 Books Reviews

A book with such a title and cover is a little out of my comfort zone. However, I found this a quick and engaging read. Suitable for teens or adults.
This imaginative telling of an ancient myth brings magic into modern times. The story is well paced and an engaging read. It captured my attention and was difficult to put down. There's an unexpected twist at the end that I won't give away - you'll have to read for yourself.
I read this book in about six hours, through three sittings. It has been a while since I read a book so quickly. The author's sense of mystery and the supernatural keeps you guessing and wanting to read more. This book is of a more adult nature than the last one I read by Pahz, The Last Adventure Box. Lilith is filled with suspense and has a dark element that keeps you guessing. I also love that the character, Lilith, is an artist and clearly has a changeable nature, which allows her to appear to others as she believes they would like to see her. The perspective shifts between the two main characters; a married couple who experience Lilith and react to her in very different ways. The book has a plot which keeps you guessing and wanting to read more. The characters experience joy, confusion, tragedy and ultimately redemption. I highly recommend this book to anyone!
